For the second multi-pitch weekend of the year, we are going to Rochers de Néviau (better known simply as Dave). Situated along the Meuse river near Namur - the beautiful capital of Région wallonne, Dave is mostly defined by slightly overhanging portions of dolomitic limestone.
If you listen to some, they would argue that climbing in Dave requires a minimum level of commitment as bolts can be at some distance. However, since the average grade here is around 5a, the spacing between the bolts is just Dave's way of making sure you’re actually awake!
Whether you are a single-pitch climber or a history enthusiast, there is plenty for you here. The first routes at Dave date back to the same era as the legendary Freyr, so there is deep history in every crack! Therefore, you can also join if you are not following the course.
Keep in mind that for joining this weekend your single pitch license is required.
Also keep in mind that this is a weekend in Belgium thus a klimjaarkaart is required to climb.
